Rustomjee Go Green Cup 2018: The Finals

The Rustomjee Go Green Cup 2018 has reached its final stage as the week-long footballing action comes to a conclusion with the six finals to be held on Saturday, 10th March at the Don Bosco Matunga Football Ground.

The kids from the different age categories have toiled hard in the group stages and gone past the semifinal hurdle to take their place in the finals and will go all out for glory in the Rustomjee Go Green Cup 2018.

Category - U14 Girls

The finals in this age group will be contested between the girls from Anjay Sports and DSRV. The two sides finished on the first two positions of their group with Anjay Sports taking the pole position edging out DSRV on Goal difference. The teams beat competition from the teams VFC and BMVM to secure their position in the final.

Category - U8

The youngest players to take the field in the Rustomjee Go Green Cup provided an exciting display of football even at such a nascent age. Don Bosco and Footfun Football Academy (FFA) emerged as the two finalists after the group matches with Don Bosco winning all their four matches and conceding just one goal.

Category - U10

The U-10 boys category was a highly competitive age group with the teams divided into three groups as Don Bosco, FFA, Net Blasters and Scottish Devils emerging the final four into the semifinals. Scottish Devils defeated Net Blasters 1-0 to enter the finals of the tournament. Don Bosco and FFA faced off in an enthralling contest that saw the match go into the penalties after ending 1-1 at full time. FFA edged out the lads from Don Bosco to take their spot in the finals against Scottish Devils.

Category - U12

The category with the maximum number of teams participated saw teams compete in four groups of four teams each. Kenkre 06 Blue, Bosco Dragons, FFA Red and SS Soccer came out on top to make the semifinals lineup. Bosco Dragons faced SS Soccer in the first semifinal that saw the SS Soccer side emerge winners in a 2-1 scoreline with delightful play between the two sides. The other semifinal was a solid competitive fixture between Kenkre 06 Blue and FFA Red that saw the Kenkre lads progress to the finals with a 1-0 win.



Category - U14

The U14 teams were divided into three groups with a total of twelve teams in contention. Kenkre 04, Kenkre 05, Bosco Dragons and VFC were the final four sides that competed in the semifinals on Friday. Bosco Dragons secured their place in the final with an emphatic 6-2 win over Kenkre 04, while the other Kenkre side, Kenkre 05 got the better of VFC with a 2-0 victory to set up the final.

Category - U16

The highest age group in the Rustomjee Go Green Cup 2018 had five teams compete in the group stages for a place in the finals. Trixters and JJ Kingstar FC emerged at the top two spots to set the stage for the final.

The Rustomjee Go Green Cup 2018 finals will be held from 6pm at the Don Bosco Matunga Football Ground in Matunga, Mumbai. Come out to support the young lads and witness India's footballing future in action!
