Kenkre FC Celebrates AIFF Grassroots Day With Aplomb
Kenkre Football Club concluded the successful celebration of AFC Grassroots day as part of the club's drive to strengthen and nurture grassroots level football in the city of Mumbai.
Kenkre FC celebrated the AFC Grassroots Day amidst activity and widespread participation from kids all across Mumbai as the event was conducted at two of the most prominent footballing venues in the Mumbai City - The Don Bosco Football Ground and Goans Football Ground.
The event saw football enthusiast kids in Mumbai come together on a common platform to just have fun playing the beautiful game. The whole day saw a lot of fun activities take place at both the venues and also saw a great turnout of the parents accompanying the children involved. The parents too had a great time encouraging their kids to play football.
Another striking component of the AFC Grassroots Day festival was the exhibition match that Kenkre FC’s U-17 youngsters played against a district team from the state of Jammu and Kashmir as a part of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 160 Battalion’s ‘Bharat Darshan’ initiative for the development of the sport in the valley. The team was a winning district team from Jammu and Kashmir and was accompanied by CRPF Assistant Commandant Mr. Sangeet Kumar on their tour to the city.
The major motive of the programme was to bring together as many kids as possible through football. The AFC Grassroots Day advocates exchanges and sharing human values and, of course, promotes the pleasure of practicing our marvelous sport.
